Vision Media Productions is an independent production company specializing in television documentaries that challenge viewers to examine the historical and philosophical underpinnings of a wide range of contemporary issues. VMP’s first production, Cheating God out of Christianity, won top honors in its category at four international film and video competitions. The program examined misconceptions about the life of Jesus Christ and the founding of the world’s most prominent religion. VMP is currently in production on several projects relating to Middle Eastern history, both ancient and modern, and the struggle for peace in the region. Another of VMP's productions, Quest for the Real Paul, was also awarded similar accolades. Quest won three international film and video awards including a Gold Camera award from the U.S. International Film and Video festival held in Los Angeles in 2006. The program tells the dramatic story of one of history’s most controversial figures and reveals why new scholarship is overturning traditional understanding of the apostle Paul and his role in establishing Christianity. Vision Media Productions is based in Pasadena, California. Its president and founder is David Hulme. He holds a doctorate from the University of Southern California in International Relations, with an emphasis on the Middle East. Prior to launching Vision Media Productions in 2001, Hulme was a producer, writer and anchor for The World Tomorrow, a weekly 30-minute television program that was syndicated internationally on over 300 stations. VMP is currently at work on several new productions that focus on the history of and conflict in the Middle East.
