Welcome to Vision Media Productions, an independent production company specializing in television documentaries that challenge viewers to examine the historical and philosophical underpinnings of a wide range of contemporary issues.

VMP’s first production, Cheating God out of Christianity, won top honors in its category at four international film and video competitions. The program examined misconceptions about the life of Jesus Christ and the founding of the world’s most prominent religion. VMP is currently in production on several projects relating to Middle Eastern history, both ancient and modern, and the struggle for peace in the region.

Another of VMP's productions, The Quest for the Real Paul, was also awarded similar accolades. Quest won three international film and video awards including a Gold Camera award from the U.S. International Film and Video festival held in Los Angeles in 2006. The program tells the dramatic story of one of history’s most controversial figures and reveals why new scholarship is overturning traditional understanding of the apostle Paul and his role in establishing Christianity.

Vision Media Productions is based in Pasadena, California. Its president and founder is David Hulme. He holds a doctorate from the University of Southern California in International Relations, with an emphasis on the Middle East. Prior to launching Vision Media Productions in 2001, Hulme was a producer, writer and anchor for The World Tomorrow, a weekly 30-minute television program that was syndicated internationally on over 300 stations.

VMP is currently at work on several new productions that focus on the history of and conflict in the Middle East.

Wings of Peace is a feature-length documentary that asks the question, "Can environmental passions trump traditional geo-politics?" The film will explore this provocative question through the inspirational story of two environmentalists from warring Middle Eastern nations who join together to save birds and spark a fledgling peace movement in the process. Wings of Peace tells the amazing story of Yossi Leshem and Imad Atrash. An exciting mix of intimate fly-on-the-wall drama and spectacular nature photography, the film follows the duo as they tackle their latest “impossible” project – physically bringing together Palestinian and Israeli students - interweaving this day-to-day drama with the men’s personal histories and the impact they are having on tangled Middle Eastern politics and on the delicate regional ecosystem.

Messiahs! Rulers and the Role of Religion explores history's ever recurring rise of despotic rulers and how they made themselves gods in their quest for world domination. This series looks back through history at emperors and kings, tyrants and despots who were overcome by the desire to become "savior-gods" in order to rule the world. We will investigate the proclivity of people they ruled to support them, who gave legitimacy to their rule and encouragement to their fantasies of omnipotence. The film shows that religion is all too often harnessed and manipulated in the pursuit of such deification. Those who pretend at godhood, or who simply use it as a political device, often claim for themselves a unique anointing, the status of superman, or the ability to create supreme law. In their delusions, they become mistaken messiahs.

The Battle for a Homeland
examines the century-old Palestinian and Israeli conflict from a unique angle and shows why Jerusalem is so important to both sides.

Journeys of the Gods
takes viewers back to the ancient empires in a colorful and mysterious way as it uncovers the deities which held power over these fascinating societies. The great empires of the ancient world were held together by more than military might. Alongside mighty rulers like Nebuchadnezzar, Cyrus, Alexander and the Caesars sat even more powerful gods. Even the most fearsome human rulers had to pay deference to the deities. As one empire gave way to another, these gods outlived their human counterparts and migrated to new lands. Even today, their legacy lives on in the traditions of Western culture.

Climate Keepers is a literal and figurative "David and Goliath" story about a brave and determined Pygmy seeking to protect his home in the Congo. Adrien Sinafasi is a forest dweller in the remotest corner of the globe. For millennia his people have lived in harmony with the rainforest of Southwestern Africa sharing in its beauty, wisdom and peace. Now it is threatened as the industrial nations of the world are ready to descend on it to exploit and extract its teeming natural resources. Follow Adrien as he shows us the simple yet magnificent wonders of jungle life. The film will contrast the serenity of life deep in the Congo with life in modern cities as Adrien treks the globe to cities like Berlin, Washington DC and London to petition world leaders and governments to hear the cry of the forest people who only want to protect their homes and lifestyles.
